You’d be hard-pressed to find a more futuristic surname than O’Neill.
Physicist Gerard Kitchen O’Neill was the creator of everyone’s favourite space settlement design—the O’Neill cylinder. He proposed it in his 1976 book The High Frontier: Human Colonies in Space, but you’re probably more familiar with it from the films Elysium or Interstellar.
As such, the Cork 2068 Olympics is delighted to be collaborating with his distant cousins, the O’Neills sporting goods manufacturers—purveyors of the finest GAA shorts this side of Proxima Centauri.
